Healthy eating: the menu offered in school is too fat, too sweet, too salty. Use more fruits as deserts.

The menu offered at school (and nurseries) is very unhealthy. Too little fruit (fresh fruit), too much fatty food, too salty, (way) too much sugar. One doesn't need a "pudding" after every lunch meal! The children learn that they can just survive on deserts - rather than eating a healthly, proper meal. If there is an unhealthly fast food option - and the children have a choice, then they will usually choose that. Healthy food seems to be more expensive BUT the additional expenses are worth it.

Why the contribution is important

it provides the basis for healthy children and healthy adults.

Healthy school lunches are still not provided. Chocolate milk In the name of milkshake, cordial. Chips, burgers (fried meat). Etc.
There needs to me more improvement. Sandwiches are much healthier that these hot meals...
Desserts? Why. Yogurt, fruit should be encouraged.
Remove sweets and crisps from the allowed list of snacks.

Give children adequate time to eat their lunch too. All too often the bell rings and they need to leave their lunch.

Great idea. The school menu is far away from being 'healthy' with too much fried food and too much sugar! Of course children like their puddings but - let's face it - they don't need it with every lunch!
